Bhutan is a nature blessed beautiful country in Himalayan mountain region. Bhutan is accessible through air transport. Paro is the only airport in Bhutan. It is probably the most dangerous airport in the world. Landing in Paro is indeed a tough job for pilots. Larger planes from Boeing, Airbus etc. cannot land here. Only short flights with smaller air crafts connected with various parts in India are available from Paro. Besides India, Paro is connected with Kathmandu (Nepal), Dhaka (Bangladesh) and Bangkok (Thailnd). All the planes run by Druk Air.
On the other hand Bhutan is very easy accessible from India. Public buses are available from Siliguri, the gateway of north east India and Bhutan. It is most charming to go Bhutan by your own vehicle. Two wheels or four wheels, depends upon the availability but it is the most charming way to explore Bhutan. There is no restrictions for Indians to enter with their own vehicle. Only some rules you need to maintain. We will discuss those in this blog in detail. One important thing, Bhutan is still ruled by the King. There is enough liberty for Indians but no mercy if you violate any rule. The people are well disciplined, well mannered and polite but they cannot withstand violation of rules. If you are caught by the police, it is very difficult to get rid off them by offering bribe. The country is not corrupted like its neighbours. If you are ready to obey the Royal rules, go ahead, Bhutan is an ideal place for visit.
